. yesterday they posted this, cheering on house speaker john boehner and his big high-stakes negotiations that he's having with president obama right now. they didn't like everything john boehner is proposing, but as you can see in the headline there, they thought it was worth two cheers, two cheers for john boehner. they proclaimed it as good news that john boehner was announcing that he has pulled out of the fiscal cliff talks with president obama and is moving toward the approach that freedomworks has been urging. good news. two cheers for john boehner and his plan b. they posted that yesterday morning. we know that because our friend james carter was able to access the old web archived version of it because the current version of it doesn't look like that anymore. they had to change it. they had to change it because apparently that isn't really the freedomworks position on john boehner. at least they don't think that's their position -- actually, you know, we're not quite sure. they put up an update on their earlier announcement saying that despite their earlier support, after further

are wasting our time. republicans are supposed to vote on john boehner's infamous plan b at this hour. the house is in recess as republican leaders basically are scrambling to get all the votes. house speaker john boehner pushed for a vote on the bill even though it has no chance of surviving in the senate. it would be veet 0ed by the president if it did. boehner's plan b. it makes tax increases permanent for income above $1 million. compared to the white house plan, basically, folks, it's a joke. president obama proposed a $2.5 trillion package. $1.2 trillion would come from spending cuts. $1.3 trillion would come from tax increases. plan b only includes $1 trillion in tax revenue and the rest of course is unspecified. it also includes no deal on raising the debt ceiling. president obamas latest offer takes the debt ceiling off the table for the next two years, which i think most americans want. boehner flat out lied to the american people today when he announced tonight's vote. >> president obama and senate democrats haven't done much of anything. their plan b is just slow-walk us o

a problem for john boehner's caucus, because john boehner sent a letter to the president this week with his own plan, which advocates what just might be the least popular policy in american politics. okay, maybe that's hyperbole. but just be a tiny bit, i mean, mandatory gay marriage, in which every single married straight person had to immediately divorce their spouse, and accept a state-assigned same-gender spouse to replace them would probably be more popular than what john boehner proposed this week. what john boehner is advocating is making medicare available to fewer americans. as it happens, there is brand-new polling out today on how americans feel about the idea of congress using these deficit negotiations to make cuts to medicare. 79% of americans say they do not want congress to touch medicare in these deficit negotiations. 79%. if you want to get specific about john boehner's proposal, what he wants to do to medicare is to raise the eligibility age from 65 to 67. and as it turns out, there is also recent polling on that specific proposal. and it is also super unpopular. look at

be pushed back on by his own party as hard as what happened to john boehner this week. host: let me read to you "activists that helped john boehner's plan b saying that republicans must be ready to go over the fiscal cliff that includes no tax increases. sbainer boehner and other republican leaders have been too scared about suffering publicly if the nation goes over the cliff and the tax sbikeses that are triggered in january. now that the plan b has failed these conservative republicans should be empower you ared to make big demands and stop caving to the president out of fear." guest: that doesn't make much sense to me. you have to get it through the house republicans then the president has to sign something, if that doesn't happen then you have very large tax increases a lot more than what they were talking about in their negotiating and you have the defense cuts that happen overtime and some other, nondefense cuts. you really have this huge amount of revenue, a lot of debt reduction. it is hard to see what demands the republicans can think will be easier to make come the new year. g

the country needs. today we heard president obama's response to the proposal that house speaker john boehner put on the table yesterday. >> the speaker's proposal right now is still out of balance. >> of out of balance. kind of similar to what republicans said last week when the president sent over his terms. so now what? will they sit down and talk it through? well, not according to at least one senior republican aide who told cnn today, no conversations today, no e-mails, tweets, carrier pigeons. as for boehner and obama, they actually did see each other in person at the white house holiday party last night in black tie. while other lawmakers waited in line to get the photo with the president, multiple sources from both sides of the aisle tell cnn that boehner wasn't among them. so much for holiday cheer. we have this picture. we're wait fworg the day there's a fiscal cliff. there wasn't total silence in washington today. senate majority leader harry reid spoke up. but in his case, in the form of a swipe. >> i sympathyize with john boehner. the key party has a firm grip on the republican p
